Mini Mods

Our Mini Mods for under 5’s are exactly that, a miniature version of the full size modules. They can be up to four levels high, with lots of exciting and imaginative activities, including ball pit, mirrors and sensory equipment, climbing and crawling, spinning and small slides. Although these are for small people, the sky’s the limit and we love the range of fun that can be developed into the Mini Mods.

Fun fact! This picture was taken in the very first Mini Mod that we manufactured.

Why mini mods?  With the full size System 21 Play Modules well established and proving popular with our clients, we wanted younger children and toddlers to have something bit more challenging and exciting to get to grips with and hold their attention for longer.  David Taylor Design developed the four foot Mini Mods 15 years ago to help younger kids transition to the larger equipment, and help toddlers and young children to build their motor skills and confidence and encourage risk taking in a controlled environment.

Less installation disruption: We also wanted to provide a play scheme that is simpler to install, thereby reducing installation time and ensuring less disruption to our customers.  The Mini Mods, also known as a indoor climbing frame for toddlers are also easy to move if required – for example at our play zone in Mead Open Farm, to enable a layout change we were able to dissemble and reassemble the same day.

Strength and durability: Crucially the Mini Mods – which can stack up to 3 levels high – are as strong as our full size play modules, and developed using the same modular construction method of steel sections fabricated on site here at our factory.  They sit firmly in place with no movement.
